Grace Baptist Church Vision & Mission

It is important for our Church to have a vision so we always know our ultimate objective.... “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (Proverbs 29:18)

A vision is an ideal future state; goals and actions are aligned in a continuous effort to achieve it. The vision of Grace Baptist Church is based on the principles found in the Bible, which are constantly pointing us toward Jesus Christ, similar to a compass, which operates on the principle or truth that the needle always points to magnetic north.

A mission is the purpose of an organization or why it exists. A clear mission or purpose is important as it provides a benchmark to measure and ensure that all plans and actions are aligned with and focused on striving to achieve the vision.

Vision

Our vision is to raise up and grow a called out and committed body of believers.

Grace Baptist Church has a vision for Christ. We desire that every person sitting under the preaching and teaching of our Pastor, as well as in small group study, continue to learn more and more about the Bible, be brought closer to the Lord Jesus Christ, apply what is heard to daily life, and have a passion for the lost in Monroe (Jerusalem), Walton County (Judea), Georgia (Samaria), and the entire world (all nations). This would include personal witnessing and actions as well as “sending” missionaries with our prayers and financial support.

Mission

Grace Baptist Church exists to Reach, Win, Equip & Send all under the guidance of Prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit:

The model of our mission is cyclical, representing the way we are to constantly refresh our efforts and resources. The following will spell out each element of the model in more depth:

Prayer: All elements of Grace Baptist Church’s mission are to be completely and totally covered with prayer.

Reach: Continuously reach out to each other and to the lost by being a Church active in our community, which is exemplified in several ways. Sunday School class members minister to each other. Members visit in the community as well as with those who have visited our Church. We take advantage of all opportunities to hear the Gospel. Each individual can grow in their Christian life by attending services, participate as clubbers or volunteers in Awana, attend Student Ministry meetings & outings, work/attend Vacation Bible School, etc.

Win: Strive to win the lost by preaching and sharing the Gospel at every opportunity.

Equip: All believers will be taught and fed thereby increasing their understanding and application of the Word of God, which will equip them to share the Gospel with the unsaved and minister to fellow believers.

Send: As commanded in the Great Commission, we are to go into the “world” prepared and ready to reach and win the lost, equip and minister to the body of believers, send them to reach the lost…...and so on.

Referenced in the “send” element of our mission and embodied in each of the other elements is the Great Commission, one of our Church’s core Bible verses and commands:

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”  (Matthew 28:19-20)
